Tucker girls cruise in tourney, 72-13

GLENVILLE — It was a tough Monday afternoon for Fayetteville in the IOGA tournament first-round bracket.

Tucker County overtook the Pirates with a lopsided victory margin of 72-13.

“We played well, and Fayetteville is down,” TCHS coach Dave Helmick said. “Everybody got to play today. We just have to go back to practice and get ready for Saturday.”

Terra Kuhn lead the team in scoring with 12 in the scoring column.

Sydney Nestor recorded 11 points and 5 steals, while Sydney Moore made 10 points in the contest.

Junior Riley Evans led the Lady Mountain Lions in rebounding by collecting 9 boards on the floor at the Glenville State College’s Waco Center.

Tucker County’s resume improved to 3-0.

They will resume play on Saturday when back at GSC for a tournament title game versus the yet-to-be-determined winner between the Gilmer County Titans and Robert C. Byrd High School.
