Tucker wins on the road

KINGWOOD — The Tucker County Mountain Lions racked up a road victory Wednesday by knocking off Preston County, 66-58.

“We started out well and led the majority of the game,” said TVHS coach Jim Ambrose. “We got about a 10-point lead and held that until late, when Preston made a run. We managed to hold them off and get the win.”

Senior Wes Snyder led Tucker County with 20 points on the night, and added 6 assists.

Junior Alec Cummings scored 16 points, including 4 three-pointers.

Junior Corrick Ambrose had a good game as well, scoring 15 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists.

For Preston County, senior Jacob Livengood put up 12 points, while fellow 12th-grader Andrew Lantz contributed 11 points for the Knights.

Tucker County (4-6) will take the court again on Jan. 17 when they travel to face Moorefield.
