TVMS Bulldogs down Harman

HARMAN — Garrett Gibson was the top scorer for Tygarts Valley Middle School Wednesday, as the Bulldogs defeated Harman Middle School, 32-27, to remain undefeated in boys varsity basketball.

“It was a tough fought game by both teams,” TVMS coach James Markley said. “Even though we didn’t play our best game, we kept playing hard.”

Gibson set the pace for TVMS with 11 points. Teammate Brandon Bennett contributed 7 points to the effort.

Coy Teter was the leading scorer for HMS with 11 points.

The Bulldogs junior varsity squad (3-1) also picked up victory, defeating the Harman JV squad 38-28. In that game, Logan Phillips was the top dog for TVMS with 17 points, while Ashton Workman also reached double digits with 12 points.

Levi Bennett led the Harman JV team with 18 points.

Tygarts Valley (7-0) will be back in action today when the team travels to face Belington Middle School. JV action tips off at 5:45 p.m. and the varsity game will follow.
