Warriors win over Richwood
DUNMORE — The Pocahontas County Warriors took on Richwood High School’s Lumberjacks for the fourth time this season, coming away with another big win as part of the first round in the boys sectional tournament.
Playing at home Monday, Pocahontas County took the lead early on and never looked back, ultimately winning 83-41.
The score was 20-11 at the end of the first quarter, and the Warriors maintained their lead with the score standing at 43-25 going into halftime. By the end of the third quarter, the score was 59-34.
The top scorers for PCHS included Jarret Taylor with 25 points, joined by Logan Dilley with 18 points and Briar Wilfong with 13 points.
For the Lumberjacks, Wade Richie brought in 12 points, while Frank Petruv had 11 points.
Pocahontas County is set to take on Charleston Catholic at home today at 7 p.m., after that school topped Fayetteville 73-53 during sectional play Monday.
