Wildcats top East Hardy

BAKER — The Pendleton County offense exploded for 10 runs in the first inning Monday, as the Wildcats skated past East Hardy, 17-15, in Potomac Valley Conference action.

For PCHS, Addison Rexrode went 2 for 3 with 2 home run and 4 RBIs. Tim Thorne finished the day 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored and 2 RBIs, while Josh Wagoner went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. Other top players for the Wildcats included Evan Kile, 2 for 4 with 1 RBI, and Thomas Davis, 1 for 4 with a double and 3 RBIs.

Kyle Kimble earned the victory for PCHS on the mound. Thorne, Davis and Rexrode all made appearances on the mound, with Thorne earning the save.

Seth Smith shouldered the loss for the Cougars. He gave up 9 runs before exiting the game in the first inning.

Logan Whetzel collected 4 hits for EHHS and drove in 2 runs.

Pendleton (5-1, 3-0 PVC) is set to travel to Moorefield today for a 7 p.m. contest.

East Hardy (1-7) is scheduled to host Petersburg today at 6 p.m.
