Barbour County middle school soccer teams begin inaugural season

The Inter-Mountain photos by Tony Baisi Barbour County middle school soccer began their inaugural season Wednesday at George Byrer Field at BC Bank Park. The newly formed boys and girls squads are comprised of student-athletes representing Belington, Kasson and Philippi middle schools. Barbour County played host to the Taylor County Knights. Taylor County possessed well to get an 8-1 win in the boys game. For Barbour County, Jake Davies booted in the first-ever WVSSAC sanctioned middle school program's goal for the hosts at the 17:19 mark in the second half of game one, cutting the deficit to 6-1, while the the girls game ended in a 1-1 draw. Caylee Simons scored the historic girls goal for the Barbour County girls team.
