Buccaneers roll past PHS, 13-2

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur boys soccer team erupted in a 13-2 win over Preston Tuesday at Ted Crites Alumni Field at Tom Hasbrouk Stadium.

Cam Ware, Coleman Shreve and Alek Seech all recorded hat tricks to lead the Bucs, who led 9-2 at the intermission.

Ryan Hurst added two goals, while Lane Tenney and Mark Burnside also scored.

Tenney finished with five assists, Seech added a pair of helpers and Caden Andrick was credited with one.

B-U finished with a 25-7 advantage on shots on goal. Logan Kelley had five stops in the Buccaneer net.

J.T. Flores had five saves and Mauricio seven for the Knights, while Josh Land scored both of the PHS goals.

“It was good to see us work the ball in different combinations and make correct passes,” B-U coach Mike Donato said. “We really needed to work on making corrections to mistakes we’ve been making the last few games and getting all players quality minutes

“We were able to do both of this tonight.”

The Bucs, now 3-4-0, will return to action at 6 p.m. Thursday at North Marion.
