Davis & Elkins falls to second-ranked Ohio Valley

Lady Senators drop 2-0 decision

VIENNA – The Davis & Elkins College men’s soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 2-ranked Ohio Valley Thursday in G-MAC action.

The Fighting Scots (5-0, 2-0 G-MAC) used goals by Juan Hoyos, Jorge Pradillos and Duvan Erazo to take a 3-0 lead at the intermission.

Hoyos and Pradillos added goals in the second half.

Nicolas Rodriguez added two assists for Ohio Valley, which held a 9-3 advantage on shots on goal and a 7-4 edge on corner kicks.

Abel Ameyaw had two shots on goal for the Senators, while keeper Richard Glemawu had four saves.

Jorge Bravo recorded the shutout for the Fighting Scots, stopping three shots.

D&E (3-2-1, 2-2-1) will travel to Walsh (Ohio) at 7 p.m. Thursday for another league contest.

Ohio Valley 2, D&E 0

VIENNA — Ohio Valley tallied goals in each half en route to a 2-0 win over Davis & Elkins Thursday afternoon in G-MAC play.

Jennifer Medina gave the Fighting Scots a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute off an assist from Paula Valbuena, who added a goal of her own in the 58th minute.

Ohio Valley (3-1-2, 3-0-0 G-MAC) led in shots on goal (14-2) and corner kicks (7-0).

Lauren Hill had 12 saves in goal for the Lady Senators.

D&E (2-2-1 overall and 2-2-0) will visit Walsh (Ohio) at 5 p.m. Thursday for a league encounter.
