Lady Senator spikers fall to Trevecca Nazarene
ELKINS — The Davis & Elkins College Volleyball team fell to Trevecca Nazarene 3-0 Friday night in the Lady Senators’ Great Midwest and home opener at the McDonnell Center.
The Senators rallied in a tough first set, forcing extra points before eventually falling 28-26.
However, the Senators were unable to match the visitors in sets two or three, falling 25-18 and 25-15.
Kaitlyn LaCour led the Lady Senators with 11 kills, while Raleighanne Weaver had eight kills and Luann O’Kane finished with seven.
On a night where the Senators struggled with 27 attacking errors, hitting .076 as a team, O’Kane was solid in the attack, hitting .263 for the match.
O’Kane was also a part of two block in the match, leading the way for D&E.
Jessa Henry had 17 assists, while Briana Hoffmann finished with 10.
Kelly Smith led Davis & Elkins with 10 digs, the only Senator in double figures. Henry had six digs, while LaCour and Madi Gil finished with five each.
D&E will return to action today with the second of three conference matches in three days.
The Lady Senators will face Kentucky Wesleyan at 2 p.m. in the McDonnell Center.
