Price collects 21 kills in EHS win

ELKINS — Sam Price had 21 kills to lead the Elkins High School volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Fairmont Senior Tuesday night in Big 10 play at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium

The Lady Tigers are now an even 8-8 on the season and will travel to East Fairmont today.

Elkins took the first set, 25-19, before the Polar Bears evened the match with an 18-25 victory in set two, The Lady Tigers then took the final two sets, 25-12, 25-14.

“This was a good win for us tonight,” EHS coach Penny Crawford said. “When we played (Fairmont Senior) earlier this season, we lost to them in five sets, so it was nice to come out with the victory.”

Hannah Phillips added four kills for the Lady Tigers, Alexis Ice six kills and two ace serves, Morgan Bowers 32 set assists and two ace serves and Alisha Arbogast one solo block and two ace serves.

In the JV match, Elkins improved to 12-2 with a 2-0 (25-11, 25-18) win.

Dacey Arbogast had six set assists and four ace serves, Rumble Arbogast four set assists, Kaitlyn Stone four kills and Skylee Brown five kills and three ace serves for the Lady Tigers.
