Senators, AB battle to draw

ELKINS — Davis & Elkins used a goal in the first minutes of the second half to earn a 1-1 draw with G-MAC rival Alderson Broaddus Tuesday at Nuttall Field.

The Senators got even with just 1:09 elapsed in the second frame on a goal by Pedro Bassin Nunes.

Bassin Nunes was able to get the tying score when the Battler keeper came out of goal to engage, leaving the net open for Bassin Nunes who converted.

The score remained deadlocked until overtime, with each team getting one shot on goal in the extra session.

AB (2-3-1, 2-1-1 G-MAC) took a 1-0 lead at the 6:00 mark when Agostino Greco knocked in a loose ball off a corner kick.

Each team had six shots on goal in the match.

Senator keeper Everton Carvalho and the Battlers’ Fransisco Cuevas Yudego both recorded five saves.

D&E (3-1-1, 2-1-1) will travel to No. 2 Ohio Valley on Thursday, while AB hosts Ohio Valley Saturday night.
