EHS spikers fall to BHS; JV squad wins

ELKINS — The Elkins High School varsity volleyball team fell to Bridgeport in straight sets Thursday at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium by the scores of 7-25, 4-25 and 3-25.

The Lady Tigers are now 9-12 and will conclude their home schedule on Tuesday with a triangular match with Buckhannon-Upshur and Petersburg.

The EHS JV squad, meanwhile, rallied for a 2-1 win over the Indians.

The Lady Tigers dropped the first set, 17-25, before taking the final two sets by the scores of 26-24 and 25-23 to improve to 14-4.

Leading the EHS JV squad were Rumble Arbogast with four ace serves and nine set assists, Kaitlynn Stone with three ace serves and seven kills, Keslsey Swecker with one solo block and one assist, Skylee Brown with five kills and six digs and Bethany Bennett with one ace serve.
