AB track teams compete in meet at Marietta, Ohio

MARIETTA, Ohio — The Alderson Broaddus track & field teams competed at the Pioneer Open hosted by Marietta College on Saturday.

The men’s team posted a 10th-place finish, while the women’s team finished sixth.

On the men’s side, Malik Washington started AB off with the 55m with his time of 7.03 seconds finishing just three spots out of the top eight in the preliminary round.

Nick Dean finished second in the 400m with a time of 53.83 seconds. It was a two second improvement from his previous personal record.

The 4×200 relay team of Nick Dean, Grant Noon, Tory Lee and Malik Washington finished in second place with a time of 1:40.

Caleb Pell finished fifth in the 1,000m with a time of 2:54, as well as finishing sixth in the mile.

On the women’s team, Monea Collins won the 800m with a time of 2:38. Ashleigh Martin finished sixth and Taylor Treadway finished seventh in the mile.

The 4×200 relay team of Elizabeth Brant, Jaymie Snider, Rachel Adamski and Jayme Hykes placed in second with a time of 2:02.

Jaymie Snider topped a personal record, measuring at 1.4 meters in the high jump.

Kelsey Hudson finished sixth in shot put, with a distance of 34 feet 9.5 inches.

The Alderson Broaddus track & field teams will continue their indoor season at the Liberty University Kickoff on Friday.
