Colts drop road tilt to Lincoln
SHINNSTON — Philip Barbour slipped to 5-4 on the season Thursday night on the road after dropping a 63-41 decision to Big 10 Conference rival Lincoln.
The Colts trailed the Cougars 11-10 after the game’s initial quarter, and then suffered a second-period outburst by Lincoln, which led 33-15 by the half.
Philip Barbour cut into the deficit by just one point in the third, and the Cougars continued to cruise in the fourth with a 15-10 effort to keep their conference victory wrapped up tightly on the home hardwood.
Kiyan Bartlett paced the Colts with eight points and seven rebounds.
Levi MacAdam registered eight points, while Jed Hawkins recorded six points and four assists.
Noah Matlick inked six in the scoring column for PB, and Will Knight and Logan Ball both scored four points apiece.
Lincoln is now 8-2.
Weather permitting, Philip Barbour will be on the road Saturday to take on a 7-3 Petersburg High School squad in Grant County for an afternoon scrum slated to begin at 2 p.m. with junior varsity matters ahead of the varsity contest.
