Indians get past Bucs; ’Cats cruise

TENNERTON – Despite placing four players in double figures, Buckhannon-Upshur dropped a 65-54 decision to Bridgeport Thursday in Big 10 Conference play.

The Bucs (8-9 overall and 7-4 Big 10) were led by Dawson Lilly with 14 points, followed by Brayden Cutlip and Ryan Hurst with 13 each and Zach White with 10.

Cutlip also had 13 rebounds for a double-double, and Ryan Strader grabbed 10 boards.

John Mazza and Blake Bowers each had 17 points for the Indians (15-2, 11-1 Big 10). Jake Bowen netted 11 and Tanner Bifano 10.

Bowen and Bifano also had 11 rebounds each and Bowers four assists.

B-U will return to action at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Princeton.

FRANKLIN – Marcus Sites hit for 22 points as Pendleton County claimed a 72-51 win over Harman on Thursday night.

Bailey Thompson added 16 points and Draven Roberts 11 for the Wildcats.

Braydan Huffman had 18 points, including a 12 of 16 effort from the free-throw line, to pace the Panthers. Coy Teter added 12.

Harman (7-9) will face Hundred at 8 p.m. today in WVHIT Finals Weekend at Robert C. Byrd.
