Lady Colts tumble to Class AA, No. 6 Falcons

PHILIPPI — Senior guard Abby Beeman fired in four triples to net a game- high 25 points as Class AA, No. 6 Frankfort dismantled sectional foe Philip Barbour, 81-32, on Friday.

The winners wasted little time getting the advantage as the Lady Falcons headed into the second stanza with 25-7 lead. Swelling the deficit even wider, Frankfort went to the break with a 48-14 cushion.

A 26-8 third quarter by FHS had the hosts trailing, 74-22, when the final frame got underway.

Junior Emma Kennedy paced the Lady Colts with nine points. Destiney Blake and Kiana Bolyard chipped in with six points apiece, and Marissa Schiefelbein hit for five points.

Frankfort had four players reach double figures in scoring as Maria Perdew added 14 points, Ashley Phillips 11 and Kaitlyn Crist 10 each.

Philip Barbour (5-14) will host Class A, No. 6 Pocahontas County (15-2) on Thursday for senior night. JV action is slated for 6 p.m., with a varsity tilt to follow.
