D&E’s Arnaud receives G-MAC track honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Davis & Elkins College’s Emeric Arnaud has been named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for men’s outdoor track.

Arnaud, a freshman from Annecy le Vieux, France, joined the Senators in January and has immediately made a huge impact on the track & field programs.

After becoming the first D&E indoor track champion earlier this year in the 5K and being named first team All-GMAC in indoor track & field, Arnaud has continued his success outdoors.

At the Duke Invitational, Arnaud clocked a new conference record time of 14:22.38 in the 5K, breaking the old previous best from Walsh’s Mark Hadley by approximately eight seconds.

There were only a handful of Division II runners in the field at the Duke Invitational as Arnaud finished 17th overall.

Arnaud currently ranks 17th in Division II among all provisional qualifiers in the event.

The Senators will head to Morgantown this weekend for the WVU Track Invitational.D&E’s Arnaud receives G-MAC track honors
