Tigers baseball squad tops B-UHS

TENNERTON — Nathan Cooper had two hits and drove in two runs to help lead Elkins to a 6-4 win over Buckhannon-Upshur on Tuesday.

Read Schumacher earned the win for the Tigers (17-9) in five innings of relief work. Schumacher scattered four hits, struck out seven and walked two.

Remington Stanley, Alan Bennett and Matthew Gainer had two hits each for Elkins. Schumacher helped his own cause at the plate with one hit and three runs scored.

Andrew Carrico took the loss for the Buccaneers in three innings pitched. He allowed five runs on seven hits.

Logan Bailey led Buckhannon-Upshur (11-15) at the plate with two hits, two runs scored and one RBI.

Both teams will be back in action today. The Buccaneers will entertain East Fairmont, while the Tigers travel to Fairmont Senior.
