B-U’s Ali Robinson garners spot on Class AAA first team

TENNERTON – Buckhannon-Upshur senior Alli Robinson has been named to the Class AAA all-state first team. She was captain of the seecond team as a junior.

Robinson, an infielder at West Virginia Wesleyan College signee, departs as the school’s all-time career and single season home run record holder.

Teammate Alyssa Rohr earned a spot in the second team as a utility player. Rohr was the lone freshman to appear on the first or second teams.

First-year player Audrey Gaudet earned honorable- mention laurels.

Gaudet, who was a standout for the Lady Bucs basketball team for four years, played outfield this past spring.

In Class AA, Petersburg junior Carly Cooper was named to the first team, while the Lady Vikings’ Katie Koontz and Bryanna Moreland earned second-team laurels.

All three players were juniors for Petersburg, which advanced to the state championship game this past spring.

Philip Barbour freshman Sara Simon and Petersburg’s Jenna Burgess earned special honorable-mention status, while Elkins High School junior Morgan Bowers earned a spot on the honorable-mention list.

Moorefield senior infielder Rebekah Markwood was named to the Class A first team. East Hardy’s Madison Strawderman was listed as special HM.
