EMS 1, Robert L. Bland 0

WESTON — The Elkins Middle School girls soccer team opened the season with a 1-0 win over Robert L. Bland on Monday night.

An potent passing game for the Lady Hornets kept play on the Patriot half of the field for the majority of the game.

Scoreless at the half, Elkins continued to pressure the RLB defense in the second half.

An assist from Lilly Betler landed on Darby Bailey’s foot and she knocked it in the top of the goal for the game’s lone score for the Lady Hornets.

EMS limited the Patriots to just one shot on goal — a penalty kick in the second half.

The Lady Hornets will face Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. at Riverbend Park.
