A-B student earns research award

Alderson-Broaddus College has announced that sophomore Brandon Rinehart has been awarded a 2013 Appalachian College Association Colonel Lee B. Ledford Scholarship for Student Research in the amount of $5,420.

“I was excited to find out that I received the Ledford Scholarship,” Rinehart said in a news release. “It will allow me to gain experience in scientific research.”

Rinehart is a chemistry and environmental science double major from Lumberport. He is anticipated to graduate from A-B in 2015.

Rinehart will present his project at the 2013 ACA Summit on Oct. 26 in Knoxville, Tenn.
