Summit Church plans recovery program

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program for everyone who struggles with a hurt, habit or hang-up that negatively affects their life. Celebrate Recovery is for anyone within the church body or community who is looking for a pathway to recovery or wants to support a loved one in need of healing.

This biblical 12-step program is based on eight recovery principles borrowed from the Beatitudes. Participants are led through a process of restoring their relationship with God, with themselves and with others.

Celebrate Recovery is designed to foster all kinds of healing, whether the issue is alcoholism, substance abuse, co-dependency, sexual addiction, gambling or food issues, anger, loneliness, depression, divorce recovery or domestic violence. It runs for eight to 10 weeks.

The program at Summit Church in Elkins is being established, and volunteers are needed. There will be leadership training classes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Summit Church.

More information is available by contacting Marty or Edie Basil at 304-636-2141 or info@summitelkins.com, or Dale Shockey at dmdmabie@gmail.com.
