Alderson-Broaddus College Concert Band to perform
The Alderson-Broaddus Concert Band will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. today in Wilcox Chapel on the college’s campus in Philippi.
The concert will include performances by the Women’s and Men’s Vocal Quartets under the direction of Lewis R. Hall.
The Concert Band is led by Dr. Judson Bracey, who is serving as interim conductor for the spring semester. The band is comprised of 39 musicians and includes three community musicians as well as A-B College students.
Works to be performed at the concert include pieces written from the 19th through 21st centuries: “Light Cavalry (Overture)” by Franz von Suppe, “The Purple Carnival (March)” by Harry J. Alford, “Canzona” by Peter Mennin, “Rest” by Frank Ticheli and “An American Civil War Fantasy” by Jerry Bilik.
There is no admission charge.
