D&E awards prizes to College Goal students

Davis & Elkins College presented door prizes to four Elkins High School students who were randomly selected winners from among entries submitted at College Goal Sunday.

Kari Rudiger was the winner of a Davis & Elkins College T-shirt and mug donated by the D&E Office of Admission. Ryan Summerfield was the winner of a D&E book bag packed with additional items donated by the D&E Bookstore, Nebraska Books and D&E Office of Student Life. Kayla Carr was the winner of an iPad donated by the College Foundation of West Virginia, West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and WV TRiO programs. EHS student Alesa Foster, who was unavailable for the presentation, won a D&E blanket donated by the D&E Bookstore and Nebraska Books.

Also attending the presentation at EHS were Principal David Fincham, guidance counselor Pat Horne, College Access Training Director for RESA 7 Anna Casale, guidance counselor Judy Kittle and Director of D&E’s Upward Bound Programs Carol Suder-Howes.

More than 100 students from throughout the region attended College Goal Sunday at D&E to get help in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
