Chamber supports teen summit

For many years, the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce has provided financial support and volunteer participation in the entrepreneurship camps at Camp Horseshoe near Parsons.

While participating as judges in the annual Mall Simulation Game this year, past president Mike Cvechko of Cvechko Insurance Services and current Barbour Chamber President Brenda Hunt, director of Heart & Hand Ministries in Philippi, presented the Chamber’s check in the amount of $1,000 to camp director David Cooper.

The Camp Horseshoe Leadership Center is affiliated with the Ohio-West Virginia Youth Leadership Association. Local business leaders from the area serve as program presenters and assist with business-related activities during the annual week long event.

All students from West Virginia schools are invited to participate. Invitations are sent each spring to high school guidance counselors announcing the June camping opportunity.
