Davis & Elkins students, staff travel to lighting expo

Davis & Elkins College Associate Professor of Theatre Tom Hackman accompanied four students to the Barbizon Lighting Expo where they had the opportunity learn about the latest technology for entertainment lighting.

Attending the event in Morgantown on April 29 were Eric Armstrong, a senior from Elkins; T.J. Myers, a junior from Lisbon, Md; Zach Snyder, a senior from Hambleton, WV; and Owen Peet, a freshman from Greencastle, Pa.

The expo was the first in West Virginia hosted by Barbizon Capitol. It featured hands-on demonstrations and equipment comparisons with representation from more than a dozen professional lighting companies from throughout the United States.

D&E students majoring in theatre arts study all aspects of theatre production. Three options are available to students working toward a Bachelor of Arts degree: Theatre Arts, Design & Technical Theatre and Theatre Education.
