Upshur man faces meth charge

A routine traffic stop in Upshur County Wednesday resulted in the arrest of a Buckhannon man on a drug charge.

Willie Junior Debarr, 25, of Route 2, Box 259D, is being held on a $75,500 bond in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a felony charge of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance. He is also facing misdemeanor traffic charges of having an expired registration and driving on a suspended license.

According to the police report from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department, deputies stopped a 1998 Subaru on Mount Lebanon Road. A search of the vehicle revealed a small can containing a white substance which investigators believed to be methamphetamine and four pills believed to be oxycodone.
