West Virginia Highland Dancers compete

Twenty two members of the West Virginia Highland Dancers competed at the North Central West Virginia Scottish Games May 4.

Hunter Melvin of Philippi won the trophy for his Beginner category. Evelyn Bennett of Elkins was awarded Most Promising Dancer. Kaylea McCutcheon of Buckhannon won the trophy for the Novice category. Harmony Wilson was awarded a scholarship for the Beginner Category.

The West Virginia Highland Dancers enjoy performing at festivals and competing in West Virginia and surrounding states. They are taught by Katy Dillon, who is certified through the British Association of Teachers of Dance.
