Che’Bella to present fashion show

The world of fashion is coming to Elkins.

Do you ever find yourself wanting to dress up but have no place to go? The opportunity is here.

Che’Bella Boutique will be hosting a fashion show Aug. 10 at 3 p.m. This is a black tie event.

The venue for this extravaganza will be the new Armed Forces Reserve Center armory, located on Route 33.

Owner Susan Wingfield opened the boutique more than 10 years ago. Mrs. Wingfield’s unique talent in design and fashion has created a gem for ladies wear in Elkins.

The store has become widely known as a great place to shop for that one-of-a-kind piece. The store has earned loyalty from local residents to folks traveling from Kentucky, North Carolina, Maryland, Florida, Virginia and many other states.

The upcoming event will let you get a sneak peak at the fashions for the fall, including career wear, formal attire, cocktail suits and cruise wear to homecoming gowns.

Experience the opportunity to view designs from Elane Malone, MacDoogle, Sherrie Hill, Terri John, Tony Bowles and Ralph Lauren, just a few of the designers in the trunk show to be unveiled throughout the evening.

Organizers are excited to announce the feature model who will be proudly wearing designs by “Sus”an Corture.

Susan Wingfield will be presenting her very unique designs for this very special occasion. Wingfield recently appointed Kathy Lewis of Gassawy as director for the upcoming fashion events. It didn’t take these two ladies long to discover they share a vision of design and a love of fashion.

Lewis said, “I walked into Che’Bella four years ago shopping for that one-of-a-kind piece. Susan designed a beautiful piece for me but more importantly, a very close friendship evolved.”

The two joined forces and have been moving forward in the fashion world since.

Ms. Lewis began her adventure into the world of fashion by judging pageants on a local level, working on functions in and around the fashion industry, including the fashion event Art in Heels, along with celebrity designers Jonathan Kayne, Heidi Elnora of the popular TV show “Project Runway,” and others. This event took place in Charlottesville, Va.

Lewis continued to follow the world of pageantry judging on the state level as well as the national competition in the summer of 2012 in Arlington, Va.

“We wanted to put together an event everyone would look forward to, as well as giving to the community,” she said.

That is when Runway from the Heart was created. All proceeds from this event will go to Catholic Charities in Elkins and Womens Aid in Crisis. Both groups reach out to provide for individuals, as well as families less fortunate than others, with the emphasis on alleviating suffering and distress in the lives of the individuals needing their assistance.

Tickets for the event may be purchased at Che’Bella Boutique in Elkins or by calling the store at (304) 636-0053. There are limited VIP tickets available.

The event is the opportunity to make a contribution to the community as well as seeing the intriguing designs from the world of fashion up close and personal.
