Oil painting exhibit on display at Arts Center

Akiko Edno’s solo exhibit, “To,” opened in the Randolph County Community Arts Center’s Maxwell Gallery on Friday, July 5.

A native to Kagoshima, Japan, Aki currently lives in Elkins. She took basic fine art classes from Corcoran College of Art & Design, Georgetown University and the University of the District of Columbia.

Although her primary medium is origami, “To” is a testament to her skill of oil painting. This exhibit focuses on surrounding nature, as Aki shares her interests in shapes found in nature and her curiosity about her surroundings.

The exhibit is open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Aug. 21.
