Singing in the Hills slated for Aug. 9-10

The 39th annual Dorsey Wiseman Memorial Sing, Singing in the Hills, will take place Aug. 9-10 in Mabie. Singing in the Hills consists of two days of southern gospel music, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 and at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The sing will take place at the Harrison Community Church campgrounds in the mountains of scenic West Virginia between Buckhannon and Elkins off old Route 33. Follow the “Gospel Sing” signs.

This year’s lineup includes New Prophets Quartet, Soldiers of the Cross, Anointed, Jimmy Houson, Soul’d Out Youth Team, Clark Family, Jo Beeman, Canaan Crusaders, Leibermans and Friends, The Lights of Home, The Williams Family, Bay City, JR Mayle, Believers Quartet, Jimmy Passwaters, The Connors, Bill and Rita Cochran, The Lamberts and Bud Scott.

There will be a special appearance by the Wiseman Family, which is comprised of Tim, Margaret, and Lena Mae, in addition to the Wiseman grandchildren.

Admission, parking and camping is free. Concessions will be available for sale, but please bring lawn chairs as seating is limited.
