Golf association makes its rounds

The Christian Golfers Association of North Central West Virginia recently completed two nine-hole outings at Buckhannon golf courses.

On Sept. 16, the group hit the links at the Buckhannon Country Club. The team of Ron Lamb, Melissa Lamb, Bill Roff and Clay Persinger tied the team of Darrell Linger, Michelle Linger, Bob Heavner and Betty Heavner, as each fired rounds of 33.

Next was the team of John Flesher, Alicia Flesher, Gene Bryant and Jerry Abel carding a round of 34. The team of Beryl McKisic, Shane West and Mike Hinkle fired a 35, followed by a 36 from the team of Dwayne Brown, Dennis Bailey, Ken Riffle and George Moore.

John Hinkle, Larry Wamsley and Randy Kirchberg combined for a 37.

The group hit the Riverbend Golf Course on Sept. 19 for another nine-hole event, which was won by the team of Bob Heaver, Betty Heavner, Phil Austin and Harry Grose with a 28 score.

Three teams fired rounds of 32 – Darrell Linger, Michelle Linger, Natalie Hinkle and Mike Hinkle; Bob Withers, Ellnora Withers, Ron Lamb and Melissa Lamb; and Jeff Zickefoose, Lynelle Zickefoose, John Flesher and Alicia Flesher.

The team of Steve Liptak, Larry Wamsley and Beryl McKisic finished next at 33, followed by a 34 from the team of Charlie Straley, Don Neman, George Moore and Ken Riffle.

The CGA has two more outings scheduled for the 2013 golf season. It will play at 2 p.m., Sept. 29 at the Riverbend Golf Course and at 1 p.m., Oct. 13 at Riverbend.
