Local author releases book

Dr. Phyllis Kohl Coston, West Virginia Wesleyan College professor of education and Christian education emeritus, will be signing her upcoming book, “Celebration of Success” at the 88 Restaurant in the Bicentennial Lounge Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

In 2009, Coston began her journey about writing inspiring stories of learning disabled students who coped and succeeded in spite of their learning differences.

“I really felt called to write this book,” Coston said. “I wanted to celebrate my students, empower other learning disabled students to know that they can succeed, and provide tips for both parents and educators.”

The personal stories of 38 Wesleyan alumni are included within this book, which was published in the summer of 2013.

Books can be purchased on campus in the Bookstore or Chapel Office, or online via amazon.com and www.wvwc.edu/pcoston. Net profits benefit The Phyllis Kohl Coston and Herbert R. Coston Scholarship for learning disabled students.
