Morris to join Citizens Bank’s board of directors
Citizens Bank of West Virginia President and CEO Thomas K. Derbyshire has announced the addition of Robert L. Morris Jr. as a member of its board of
Morris is currently employed as executive director of Randolph County Development Authority/W.Va.Wood Technology Center. He is also president and human resources consultant of Elkins Business Consultants, Inc. and works as an adjunct professor of business at Pierpont Community & Technical College.
Morris earned a master’s in business administration from West Virginia Wesleyan College along with a double major in political science and history. He is a 2001 graduate of Elkins High School and a distinguished member of the Leadership West Virginia Class of 2009.
Actively involved in community service, Morris currently serves as president of the United Way of Randolph County Board of Directors and chair of the Finance Committee of the Rotary Club of Elkins Board of Directors. He is a member of the Highlands Trail Foundation, Board of Directors for Elkins ON TRAC and the Randolph County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
His professional affiliations include membership on the board of directors of the West Virginia Economic Development Council and Southern Economic Development Council. He serves as secretary/treasurer of the West Virginia Hardwood Alliance Zone, treasurer of the Robert C. Byrd Corridor H Authority, treasurer of the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and vice chairman of the Central Appalachian Development Organization. He is a member of the Woodlands Community Lenders and West Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Married to wife, Susan Morris, they have one daughter, Elin. Morris serves as treasurer of the Woodridge Homeowners Association in Elkins where they reside.
