Randolph CVB launches new website

Visitors seeking information about places to eat, shop, sleep or play in Randolph County have an updated and improved resource.

The Randolph County Convention and Visitors Bureau launched a redesigned website, www.randolphcountywv.com, on Sept. 1. The new website features lists of local businesses and monthly festivals throughout the county as well as upcoming community events, attractions and venues for weddings.

“What excites me most about our new website is the interactive map,” said Brenda Pritt, executive director of the Randolph County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “The map shows visitors where the businesses, historic markers and events are located throughout the county and region. They can easily map the route from their smart phone.”

The new website was programmed so that it automatically conforms to the type of mobile device the visitor uses, making it easy to use and navigate.

“Having a mobile- and tablet-friendly website is extremely important in today’s marketplace,” Pritt said. “Tourism represents a large part of our local economy, and the new layout will help visitors take advantage of all Randolph County has to offer.”

The new website also showcases the Randolph County CVB’s new logo.

“When we redesigned the logo in the spring we were looking for something fun that captured the personality of the area,” Pritt said. “Our new logo is all of that and more. It plays off of the ‘Do U’ in our name. We are using the new logo and tagline – ‘What do u do? Do Randolph County!’- in all of our marketing and branding efforts.”

As the new website indicates, Randolph County is a beautiful, mountainous and scenic area that features prime outdoor recreation and rich cultural heritage.

“Our new website focuses mainly on what Randolph County has to offer visitors and residents,” Pritt said. “We separated our events and activities from those in the surrounding counties.”

Other features of the website include a listing of today’s events on the home page, a newsletter sign-up form and photo and video galleries.

“The calendar of events is the most popular page on our website,” Pritt noted. “We provide a list of all of the visitor and family-friendly activities throughout the county. Whether people are looking for information on fishing or fashion shopping, dining or lodging locations, they can find it on our new website.”

Businesses or organizations who want a listing on the new website or their event on the calendar need to call 304-636-2780, email bpritt@randolphcountycvb.com or stop by the office located at 1302 N. Randolph Ave., Elkins.
