Wesleyan to host Church Appreciation Day

On Saturday, West Virginia Wesleyan College kicks off the football home opener against UVA-Wise in the new Mountain East Conference. This game has been selected as Church Appreciation Day, a new featured event for Wesleyan, as the college invites several pastors in the local area to be recognized for their continued support of Wesleyan students.

“Many of our students regularly attend churches in the Buckhannon community,” said Angela Gay Kinkead, dean of the Chapel. “Some students use their college years to visit a different church or try new worship experiences. Over the years, pastors and congregations have not only been a supportive network for Wesleyan students, but they have provided them with additional settings for Christian formation and spiritual practice. We are thankful to them for their hospitality and care.”

The game begins at noon. Free passes will be available to pastors wanting passes for themselves and their congregations. For more information or to reserve passes to attend the game, please contact the Wesleyan’s Chapel Office at 304-473-8007.
