West Virginia Wesleyan College’s ensembles will present their annual fall concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature a wide selection of material.

The Chamber Winds, conducted by Dr. James Moore, associate professor of music and director of bands, and Robert Baden, director of the percussion ensemble, will perform “Finale” from Symphony no. 5 by Dmitri Shostakovich, National Emblem by E.E. Bagley, Centennial March by Robert Jaeger, and Overture in Classical Style by Charles Carter.

The Brass Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Moore, will perform the Canzon Septimi Toni, no. 2, Canzona a 4, and Canzona per Sonare, no. 2, by Gabrieli Giovanni.

The Trumpet Ensemble, also conducted by Dr. Moore, will perform Concert Fanfare by Eric Ewazen, If Thou be Near by J.S. Bach and arranged by Barry Ford, and Rondeau by Jean-Joseph Mouret and arranged by James Olcott.

The newly formed Chamber Winds ensemble is comprised primarily of music majors that perform chamber works adapted for a small wind ensemble.
