WVWC begins to raise funds
West Virginia Wesleyan College is launching a major fundraising effort to renovate Cebe Ross Field into a multi-purpose facility to accommodate football, women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s track and field and intramurals and recreational programming.
Once the funding goals have been met, the new facility will include artificial turf, an eight-lane Olympic-sized track, lighting, new seating, concessions and public restrooms , a multi-purpose media center and coaches box, weight room and pavilion for receptions. The estimated cost to complete renovations is $2
“Wesleyan has a tremendous reputation for academic and athletic excellence,” said Dr. Pamela Balch, Wesleyan President. “We are also known for having one of the most beautiful campuses in the region. For several decades, Ross Field has served as the venue for Wesleyan football and is in need of a major facelift. The renovation of the facility is a major component of the College’s Facilities Master Plan.”
To date, Wesleyan has received $330,500 in gifts and pledges. Wesleyan will begin the first phase of construction as soon as funds are received to cover costs for the project.
