Chamber’s Night Before Christmas a good time for all

The Barbour County Chamber of Commerce had a full house – or should we say full restaurant – for its annual Family Christmas Party last Monday evening at the Laurel Mountain Inn in

“Fuzzy the Clown” fashioned intricate balloon headpieces for each of the 15 eagerly-waiting children in attendance, while an amiable Santa Claus delivered special presents which were hand-picked, hand-wrapped and addressed by elves in Santa’s workshop behind Mullens & Mullens Attorneys on Main Street in Philippi.

Joining jolly old St. Nick were all the children from Santa’s “Nice” list, including boys Carson Cvechko, 11, Joseph Holbert, 12, Jacob Holbert, 9, Lyndon Wagoner, 11, Benjamin Norman, 5, Ashton Sickler, 7, and Alex William, 8. The Girls on Santa’s “Nice” list were Samantha Holbert, 13, Stephanie Santilli, 9, Carli Cvechko, 8, Emma Phillips, 10, Isabella Phillips, 1 1/2, Gracie Parsons, 7, and Summer Williams, 5.

“Fuzzy” paved the way for Santa’s arrival with a selection of sing-a-long Christmas carols, concluding with, “Here Comes Santa Claus,” while the overflow crowd of proud parents and friends joined in.
