United Way elimination dinner set

United Way of Gilmer, Lewis and Upshur counties will host their annual elimination dinner Feb. 28 at the Stonewall Resort. Social time will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a dinner buffet at 7 p.m. The elimination drawing will begin at 8 p.m., and you do not need to be present to win.

In addition, there will be a live auction of items donated by the United Way agencies, silent auctions, door prizes and other fun activities to win cash prizes. Dress is casual, and if you like you can wear a mardi-gras themed costume.

The dinner will include roasted cod jambalaya with shrimp, mussels and sausage, sliced blackened New York strip with sweet onion jus, red beans and rice, cajun corn maque choux, green beans with bacon and onion, mixed field greens with choice of two house dressings, muffaletta salad, Mardi Gras king cake, chocolate beiguet bread pudding, rolls and a variety of drinks.
