Valentine’s Day dinner planned in Beverly
The Beverly Heritage Center’s Valentine’s Day celebration, Heart of a Heritage, will be held Saturday evening, Feb. 8. The event features a three-course meal and the opening of a new rotating exhibit, “The Homes of Beverly.”
Darryl DeGripp, executive director, said, “Bring your sweetheart or friends to enjoy the awesome grilled tenderloin dinner in a unique venue.
“This year, you can see some of our facility improvements, including the new tile floor and technology upgrades that fundraisers like Heart of a Heritage make possible for the Beverly Heritage Center.”
Dinner will begin with hors d’oeuvres including baked brie and berry blue cheese spread served with assorted crackers, field greens salad with toppings and home-baked bread with flavored butters.
The entree course, served about 7 p.m., will feature seasoned grilled beef tenderloin from Campbell’s Market, scalloped potatoes, sweet and savory kale and green bean casserole. Assorted desserts and chocolates will complete the evening, along with coffee, tea and wine.
The new, rotating Homes of Beverly exhibit will have photographs, archaeological artifacts and other ephemera on display.
This exhibit showcases Beverly’s local history throughout time and will include artifacts that were found on the archaeological excavation at the Collett House in October. Alison Thornton, an AFHA AmeriCorps member, led the excavation and designed the exhibit.
Reservations are needed for Heart of a Heritage, with tickets available for $45 per individual or $85 per couple. All proceeds support ongoing programs and continued development of the Beverly Heritage Center.
