Shaw and Weaver are Members of the Month

Tina Shaw and Barbara Weaver are the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Members of the Month for February. Shaw is the president of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce. Weaver is the owner of Barb’s Restaurant in Belington.

Shaw has degrees in business administration and speech communications from Fairmont State University, where she was chosen an FSU Outstanding Alumna. She commenced her career as a marketing director, regional marketing director and corporate marketing director with Crown American Corp. while serving as a member of the Marion County Chamber’s Board of Directors. She was appointed president of the Marion Chamber in 2003. The chamber has 475 members whose mission is to recreate an environment which fosters economic development and enhances the quality of life in the county.

Shaw is a member of the American Association for Chamber of Commerce Executives and was twice president of the West Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. She is president of the Marion County Boys & Girls Club, chairman of the Seven Stories Theatre Co. and president of the Fairmont Senior High School Choral Boosters. She was president of the United Way of Marion County in 2012 and is a member of Fairmont Rotary, the West Virginia High Tech Consortium Foundation Affiliate Leadership Council, Leadership Marion Board of Directors, American Association of University Women, Marion County Development Authority and Greater Fairmont Woman’s Club.

Weaver is a native of Barbour County and a graduate of Philip Barbour High School in vocational business management. She was the office manager for Will & Cosby Associates Home Builders in Richmond, Va., after serving as office manager of the Richmond Auto Auction.

She opened Barb’s Restaurant in 2006 at 56 Morgantown Pike, at the corner of Routes 250 and 92 in Belington. Barb’s Restaurant offers an extensive menu in a clean and cozy atmosphere, Weaver says.
