Art Department to launch Senior Portfolio Day
The West Virginia Wesleyan College Art Department is launching its inaugural Senior Portfolio Day on April 11. The event will begin at 11:15 a.m. in Hyma Auditorium in Christopher Hall of Science on the Buckhannon campus. Presentations will begin.
Graphic design students and studio artists opting to pursue commercial arts will be presenting their final portfolios to a panel of local and regional professionals and practicing Wesleyan alumni. Presenters will then receive feedback from the panel in order to further prepare and refine their portfolios before graduating in May. This event kicks off annual portfolio reviews which will take place every spring.
Presenters for 2014 are: Cameron Lewis of Butler, Pa., (Photography), Michael Potesta of Charleston, (Graphic Design), and Derrick Scott of Newport News, Va., (Graphic Design).
Presenters will make their portfolios available for public viewing at 11:15 a.m. in Hyma Auditorium, and presentations will begin precisely at 12 noon. Each student will be given 15-20 minutes for presenting followed by a 15-minute critique and question and answer session with the panelists. Admittance will be restricted during presentations, so please plan accordingly.
The event is free and open to the public.
