Book signing set for Saturday
Author Sally Stap will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Main Line Books in Elkins to discuss and sign her first book, “Smiling Again: Coming Back to Life and Faith After Brain Surgery.”
In the book, Stap shares her journey with an abrupt and life-changing brain tumor diagnosis as well as her ongoing recovery.
“I felt compelled to share my story in the hope that it helps other acoustic neuroma patients as well as their caregivers,” Stap said. “Some people skate through brain surgery and recover but many, like myself, experience life-changing issues. It has taken time to accept and embrace the new me.”
Peter DeHaan, PhD, said the following in his review of Smiling Again: “Be inspired by this poignant account of one woman’s struggle for health and faith – and the tireless devotion of family.
“Smiling Again is a compelling read with something for everyone: those in good health and those not; those facing life-threatening surgery, those recovering from surgery, and those helping someone else recover.
“But this story isn’t just about struggle; it also offers hope as Sally finds the “new me” and can eventually smile again – both literally and figuratively.”
In Smiling Again, expect to be encouraged, perhaps cry, and even smile as you follow Sally on her journey of healing and rediscovery.”
