Cover Drive to perform at D&E college
ELKINS – The band Cover Drive will bring tropical sounds of their native Barbados to The Icehouse on the campus of Davis & Elkins College for a free performance on Saturday. Doors open at 10 p.m. and the music begins at 10:30 p.m.
The band calls their sound “Carib-pop,” a bubbly blend of their Caribbean roots in reggae, dub and soca with happy, hook-laden pop.
The quartet, comprised of lead singer Amanda Reifer, bassist Jamar Harding, guitarist Barry Hill and drummer/singer T-Ray Armstrong, has ignited the UK charts with three Top 10 hits. Their infectious smash “Twilight,” shot straight to No. 1 upon release, nabbed a 2012 Soul Train Music Award nomination for Best Caribbean Performance and had their collaboration with Far East Movement,
