Rotary blood screenings set

BUCKHANNON – The Buckhannon Rotary Club and St. Joseph’s Hospital have set the dates for its spring Blood Screenings and Health Fair.

The Rotary Blood Screenings will be held Saturday and April 26 at the Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School and at the Tri-County Health Clinic in Rock Cave. The screenings will run from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The Basic Blood Profile test will be offered for only $35, a savings of 90 percent. Optional testing for colon cancer and thyroid screening is available for an additional $5, Hemoglobin A1C testing for diabetes for $15 and PSA testing for $20. You need to fast for 12 hours before the test, bring cash or a personal check and provide your doctor’s name for your results.

St. Joseph’s Hospital will also hold its Spring Health Fair on April 26 at the Buckhannon Middle School from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in conjunction with the Rotary Blood Screening. On hand will be a variety of health professionals with free testing and information designed to keep you healthy. Free tests include bone density screening, glucose checks, skin cancer screening, pulse oximetries, dental cancer screenings and blood pressure checks. So mark your calendar and start spring with your health in mind.
