Elkins student a finalist for scholarship
Brooke Hinzman of Elkins, an Elkins High School student, is one of 10 finalists for the annual MVB Bank West Virginia Scholar Program. Hinzman is the only one of the finalists from the local area.
The winner will receive a full, four-year scholarship to West Virginia Wesleyan College to include tuition and fees, along with room and board, starting fall 2015. Second prize is a four-year $5,000 scholarship and the third prize is a four-year $2,500 scholarship to the college. The winner must enroll at West Virginia Wesleyan College in fall 2015.
Online voting has begun and can be accessed at www.wvmetronews.com. The voting will run through June 13. The 2014 West Virginia Scholar will be introduced at an awards luncheon at West Virginia Wesleyan College on June 18.
