D&E hosting College 101 Day and Open House

ELKINS – There’s a lot to consider when making plans to attend college, but it doesn’t have to be a difficult process. College 101 Day and Open House at Davis & Elkins College on Sept. 20 will provide students with the information they need and answers to their questions, all presented in a fun and interactive atmosphere.

The free event begins at 9 a.m. and includes lunch and a tour of the campus, along with a chance to win an iPad and other prizes.

“There’s so much information involved in the college search process. We just want to make it simpler, answer their specific questions and have fun while doing it,” says D&E Senior Admission Counselor Dawn Walker.

Mini-sessions will help students learn about financial aid, the application process, and NCAA regulations and athletics. There also will be opportunities to speak with D&E faculty and staff about programs, student life, preparation for the ACT and SAT, fine and performing arts and more.

After lunch, visitors are invited to a performance by hip-hop artist Bryce Vine.

“We want our guests to interact with D&E students to learn what it’s like to be a college student,” Walker says.

Pre-registration is required by visiting dewv.edu/form/open-house-registration or by calling 304-637-1230.
