Humane society set to host pancake breakfast benefit
ELKINS -Applebee’s restaurant is partnering with the Randolph County Humane Society to help raise much-needed funds for the local animal shelter.
The Humane Society’s goal is to place homeless animals into loving adoptive homes.
“We are very pleased to be able to support the local shelter in their efforts to take care of animals in need,” said Torrie Perkins, manager of the Elkins restaurant.
To help raise the funds, Applebee’s of Elkins is assisting in two ways.
During the month of June, there was a Paws for the Cause drive where a portion of the Carside To Go orders was donated to the Randolph County Humane Society.
On Saturday, Applebee’s of Elkins will sponsor a pancake breakfast from 8-10 a.m. The cost is $5 per person and all proceeds will benefit the Randolph County Humane Society. Shelter supporters and volunteers will serve as wait staff for the event.
Tickets may be purchased at the door, from RCHS board members, at local veterinarian offices, at Fancy Paws or from the Randolph County Animal Shelter.
Kelly Scheidegger, manager of the RCHS shelter, is “thrilled with the support being shown by Applebees and I hope that lots of folks will team up with the restaurant to help the shelter.”
The shelter is located at 195 Weese St. and may be contacted at 304-636-7844.
