HONEY AND MEAD TASTING: The annual holiday Honey and Mead Tasting Event will begin at 6:30 p.m. today in the atrium of Seneca Mall, 108 Third St. in Elkins directly behind S&T Bees, 222 Davis Ave.. Please bring a sample of your honey or mead to share with the group

FARM BUREAU CHRISTMAS DINNER: Randolph County Farm Bureau will host a covered-dish Christmas dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the dining hall at Camp Pioneer. The Farm Bureau will provide the meat, and those attending are asked to bring a covered dish. Speakers will be Scott Campbell, discussing coyote trapping and his new slaughter house; and Dwayne O’Dell, West Virginia Farm Bureau director of public relations. ART EXHIBIT: A solo exhibit, “Nature and Art” by Katy McClane will be featured in the Maxwell Gallery of The Arts Center in Elkins through Jan. 31. The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

BROWN BAG CONCERT: Pianist Raymond Godwin will perform Christmas songs at the December Brown Bag Concert at noon Wednesday at The Randolph County Community Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.

DISTRIBUTION FOR TOYS FOR TOTS: Elkins Marine Corps League Detachment 956 for families pre-registered to receive toys will be Wednesday and Thursday in the Tygart Valley Mall in the building between the New Start Thrift Store and the Armed Forces Career Center. Distribution times and dates are assigned based on the first letter of the family’s last name and include: Wednesday, letters A-F from 9 a.m. to noon and letters G-L from 1 to 4 p.m.; and Thursday, letters M-R from 9 a.m. to noon and letters S-Z from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information, call 304-636-4365 or 304-704-8062.

ELKS SANTA PARTY: The Elks Lodge’s annual Santa Party for area children is scheduled for 3 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church. Tickets are available at T-Mart.

CHRISTMAS EVE COMMUNION SERVICE: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will host a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service at 5 p.m. Sunday at 302 First St. in Elkins.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: Whitmer Methodist Church will host its Christmas Program at 7 p.m. Sunday.

NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY: Ring in the New Year at American Legion Post 29 beginning at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31. Cin’s Karaoke will provide music. There will be party favors, snacks and a champagne toast at midnight. Limited tickets are available for a small cover charge. Must be age 21 or older with photo ID to attend the party. LOG CABIN QUILTERS’ GUILD: Log Cabin Quilters’ Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 4 at Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, 1175 Beverly Pike, Elkins. PHARC HOLIDAY GATHERING: The Potomac Highlands Amateur Radio Club will host its annual PHARC holiday social gathering at 4 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Ponderosa in Moorefield. The social will be “Dutch treat.” More information is available online at www.pharc.org.

BEGINNING BEEKEEPERS COURSE: S & T’s Bees at 222 Davis Ave. in Elkins will host a free six-week beekeeper course from 10 am to noon Saturdays from Feb. 3 through March 10. Those attending can learn beekeeping or brush up on their skills. Participants must be pre-registered by calling 304-637-2335.

LEWIS COUNTY SENIOR CENTER is planning a cruise to New England and Canada for Oct. 11-20, 2018. Rates are per person for double occupancy and include motorcoach transportation to the pier in Baltimore. Ports will include Boston, Bar Harbor and Portland, Maine; Saint John, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia. A passport is required. There are prices for different cabin categories. An initial deposit is required to secure reservations and assign cabins. The final balance is due June 13, 2018. For reservations and additional information, contact Clara Atchinson at 304-269-5738.
